Tech In Cricket

Hi Everyone, hope you  guys are enjoying our posts.  As you all know IPL Fever is on . So here we are with some of the advanced technologies used in cricket these days.

                                                                   
Cricket has come a long way with several modifications.  And now Cricket, like any other internationally acclaimed game integrates so many technologies to get accurate results. Of course, some of them still outrightly gets rejected. But still, several technologies  are slowly becoming indispensible part of the game. Here are those few

                   

Hack eye 

• It tracks the trajectory of the ball and display a record of its statistically most likely path as a moving image. Mostly used  in tennis and  in cricket since 2009.

 Umpire cam  

                                                                                                                          

• On field umpires has a GoPro camera on top of their caps. These cameras essentially add a new dimension to the way we watch the action on the pitch.

Spider Cam

• The Spidercam is a system which enables film and television cameras to move both vertically and horizontally over a predetermined area. Quite popular in cricket these days.

 Snickometer

• Graphically analyse sound and video, and show whether a fine noise or snick occurs as ball passes bat. 

 L.E.D Stumps

• These are the expensive stumps and bails that light-up when dislodged . Introduced in Australian Big Bash League (BBL) match in Melbourne.
